Full course description

5-Week Course

Overview

featuring text by Dr. Kevin Hughes and videos of faculty for Boston College Clough School of Theology and Ministry.

From the Great Papal Schism and the Reformation to Vatican Council II and its significance in history, this course explores the events, people, and themes that shaped the church from the 1300s to the 1960s. In what ways was the church shaped by the political and socio-cultural dynamics of these times? How did the church respond to the reformations and revolutions that shaped this era? And what does this say to us about our faith and our relationship to the church today? These questions are at the heart of the conversation for this course.
